Description:
Scheuerle worte, "Cher-Peli is of the Nespelem tribe, living along Nespelem river - 40 miles north of Wilbur; Wash. Very few left. Sharpel [sic] took me in boat across Columbia river - after hard fight with currents we landed on other side, and he showed me remains of the Columbia river Indians summer camps, where they fished and got their winter supply of Salmon - of the villages all what was left large circles of Boulders, which held down the tipis - also some graves left, large piles of stones - Painted at Nespelem, now Colville Agency - Wash. July 1915"
