Description:
This painting is a composition that sets round voluptuous forms against the hard lines of verticals and horizontals. In the lower left corner are a series of three stacked gray ovals that form a flower vase and are topped by three cherry red circles that sit in for flowers with some dark green contour lines and circles that suggest foliage. Opposite this onthe right half of the painting, against a background largely comprised of reds, pinks and dark greens, is a table with a still life setting atop it's surface. The table surface is simply a yellow half circle brushstroke. The still life is an oblong skinny oval and two small red circles. The shadow under the table is dark blue with a washed green stripe running vertically from the underside to an indefinate floor. Down in the lower right corner, directly opposite the flower vase is another oblong gray oval, but not so literate as to be identifyable. The truly puzzling form in this painting rises from the table top in a brilliant yellow amorphous form and engulfs a purple circle that is the focus of the top half of the painting. All the round froms and rich, lusty color make this benign painting dramatic and sensual.
