This painting is a simple watercolor that takes advantage of the tooth of the paper with broad, single layered washes of saturated color. The brushstrokes and blocks of color are primarily horizontally oriented, intermingled with a few wide squares and vertical elements that appear to the extreme left. Areas of unpainted paper are used as part of the composition and the colors range from pale yellows and ochres to siennas and oranges, blues and greens.
