Description:
Scheuerle painted this portrait while Eagle Elk was traveling With Buffalo Bill's show, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1908, He wrote on the back of the painting, "A very fine type of Sioux, an old show Indian - over six feet tall and massive head - He took part in all of the Sioux's battles in the 70's - and returned from Canada with Sitting Bull in 1881"
