Emily Marshal made this quilt for the birth of her granddaughter, Kate Reeves, daughter of George W. and Mary Marshall Reeves. The Reeves family came to Missoula in 1884 at the suggestion of Mary Reeve's doctor to move west after she was diagnosed with tuberculosis.
