Description:
Paxson developed a unique relationship with Indians and was considered a friend, earning him the name "Cot-lo-See" (He Sees Everything). He was able to converse with many of them through sign language and eventually in their own languages. To aid in his understanding of the difficult languages and dialects, he created his own dictionaries.
