While this drawing is one for American Field, this journal entry records the following.
Friday, October 11, 1901 - "I came home and put in the day at steady work - about 3pm Mr. J.A. Maguire of Denver Col. And the editor of 'Outdoor Life' made me a call, I enjoyed the visit very much. He wished me to finish him some illustrated articles. I gave him one I had already prepaired [sic] 'Beaver Dick' I wished him to stay longer, but his time being limited, to his regret he could not do so."
