Scheuerle noted "WAR EAGLE - Yankton - Sioux - This young fellow is the champion Amateur Prize fighter of the 3 states - a wonderful developed figure light heavy weight - and stuck on his prowess - wants to fight Joe Lewis, he said - Today he's in his Indian outfit, ready for the dance going on - the long hair out, while posing he shadow boxed in the mirrow of my room - Painted in hotel, Fort Yates, N.D. 1938."
