Description:
Twenty-six-year-old Mary Fagan sewed this tafetta dress, which she wore at her September 10, 1936, wedding to twenty-five-year-old William Skillen, an employee of the Pastime Billiard Parlor. (The dress, originally blue, had faded to purple). Mary, who worked as a linotype operator for the Chinook Opinion, wore matching royal blue accessories and a corsage of roses. Although both Bill and Mary lived in Chinook, they married in Butte, where Mary grew up. After the 7:15 a.. wedding in St. Ann's rectory and a wedding breakfast at the Silver Bow Club, the couple attended a reception at the home of the bride's mother. They later left for a wedding tour of Yellowstone National Park before returning to Chinook.
