Description:
Minnie Weinzweig was brought to Helena from Romania by Herman Fligelman to be his bride around 1888. She made this quilt of samples from Herman's merchandise cart in his New York Dry goods store in downtown Helena. Herman displayed the quilt so customers could view the different types of fabrics available in his store. Minnie died in 1891 during the birth of their daughter Belle.
