Description:
In 1906, Edgar and Laura could no longer stand polluted and noisy Butte. Laura's health was not good and their home had become surrounded by mines and railroads. The Paxsons relocated to Missoula. Edgar immediately set to work remodeling the house and turning an outbuilding into his new studio.

During the last years of his life, Paxson completed two of his greatest artistic achievements - 6 historical murals for the state capitol building and eight for the Missoula County courthouse.
